Welcome to Uploaded 2.0! Our first setting will take place in the small town of Corwin, Indiana. This secluded town boasts beautiful scenery and a simple way of life. Yet, intertwined in the roots of the small community, there is an ominous presence unbeknownst to most. A fanatical cult dwells at the core of this borough. They possess the belief that ritual human sacrifices will appease the Devil and carry-on a longstanding “truce”, preserving Corwin’s way of life.


Our first event will take place at the Church. Every year, the congregation throws a holiday bash. Blessed with good weather, the events are able to span both the churchyard and the sanctuary itself. With attractions like a Christmas lights display, a hot chocolate stand, and booths peddling handmade wares, this convocation attracts every local. Those visiting the town will be encouraged to attend as well, tempted with a free glass of wine or the delicious home cooked finger foods on offer.



Cult members, your objective during this event is simple. Touch base with one another, and insure that everything at the party goes smoothly. While some curious guests may try to wander the church, you’d prefer for them to stay in the main areas. The basement is strictly off limits.

Tourists, you are fascinated by this small town celebration, and look forward to enjoying everything the party has to offer. Be sure to check every activity, even if only briefly, to get the full experience.

Locals, this party is your pride and joy! Help set up, encourage everyone else who is working hard on this lovely December night, and relax with a cup of hot chocolate. Maybe you’ve set up a table or activity of your own, or maybe you’re really proud of the dish you brought - in some way, you’ve contributed.

Role: Buddy Cop - The Serious Cult Member One
Housing: Oboro lives in a small, one-story ranch style house down a side street. It's nothing impressive, aside from how well kept and boring it is.
Personality: Severe and serious, Oboro is relentlessly into his position. He's accustomed to authority, and will respect his position as an upholder of the law way too much. He's hardly social, but he knows how to navigate a conversation, and will not spare anyone his nagging. He won't be too bothered by the roles and the scenario, since he's an edgelord assassin back home - if anything, he'll escalate situations far beyond what's necessary.

Fun fact: As a default, he's just missing these things, but in this setting Oboro's left arm is a prosthetic, and his left eye is glass.
Plans: Oboro will be very dedicated to his role, since he doesn't know how to not take orders from the powers that be. He'll have no qualms finding someone to sacrifice, all while juggling his police position and 10 cups of coffee a day.
Desired CR: Everyone here is amazing, so I'm going to try and tag around as much as I can! He's pretty bossy, so I look forward to anyone who will balk against him pushing them around.

Housing: The Church
Personality: Laid back and crass, Gintoki is a bit of mess... but he's a fool with a big heart. He lends easily to making connections with people because he thrives off of interpersonal communication - even if it isn't necessarily a positive exchange. He's true to his own moral code, so he'll probably undergo some system tweaking/consequences to fully carry out his role.
Plans: Initially, Gintoki is going to carry on with little regard to his role. Though as consequences start showing up, he'll be more corralled into acting like a true Father. He's absolutely going to try and use the excuse of being a priest to get free stuff initially though. 100%.

Role: relentlessly suspicious
Housing: A small, ordinary house, that's decorated in a cute, feminine style. In the windows there are still some halloween decorations(?) mostly depicting various blood splatter effects, and there are way more sharp knives in the house than any respectable young lady should have.
Personality: A cute, bubbly schoolgirl, that also happens to be a disaster bi with a stabbing problem. Really, really wants friends.
Plans: So she'll be busy ignoring her role... and accidentally filling it in the process. It fits her so well, that she won't have to think about being suspicious, which gives her plenty of chances to just go about exploring the town and meeting everyone and just generally being a menace.

Character: Nakajima Atsushi
Role: Gossip/Cult
Housing: A small house in major disrepair on the side streets. The roof's been leaking so long only the basement is safe from water damage at this point.
Personality: Atsushi's a hot mess of self-loathing and panic, and he'll be initially focused on obeying the rules out of fear until something else sounds like a better idea. Before he gets used to the setting and people he meets, he's going to be jumpy and freaking out a bit. He's naive, easily manipulated, has no self-esteem, and doesn't think things through = he'll be making a lot of bad decisions. Personality tweaks would have definitely been needed to even think about participating in the sacrifice of innocents, or to not automatically volunteer himself for said sacrifice. That said, he'll still feel like he should sabotage it somehow.
Plans: He's going to try and abide by the rules, so plan #1 is figuring out how to avoid broadcasting his involvement in the cult to the tourists without consequences/death. Sort of a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario going on by way of role assignments. He's not very smart and he'll go for 'terribly obvious lie' as the easiest option, which may invite more suspicion from savvy tourists who just know something's not right with Corwin. Until he figures out role loopholes, he's a liability to the cult's objective. Plan #2, if it comes down to it, he'll consequence out to try and stop the sacrifice if possible.

Housing: Hitoshi's a teenager so he doesn't really have his own place. If possible I'd love to set him up with either a) NPC parents that he's really creeped out by or b) let one of the adults here be his parent. A whole culty family! (Also, a cat.)
Personality: Hitoshi is a boy that wants to be a hero when his quirk (superpower, basically) is... mind control. As such, he's really used to being treated with distrust and has built up a sorta gruff exterior. He's dry, sarcastic, but ultimately a good person.
Plans: While parts of his role he can manage without fumbling, it's going to be bad when it gets to the final goal of "someone needs to die." That means, eventually, he'll be suffering from consequences/tweaking and have Really Complicated Feelings about it.......... So, like, let's use the early weeks to build up some good bases for suffertown.
Desired CR: adult figures to trust, people who also want to struggle against their programming with various degrees of success, people with Feelings about heroism... lbr the game's small which means i'm probably going to be tagging everyone. or like 90%.
Anything else: despite binging in the last months to catch up on the manga i'm still going with the canon point I apped him as- so he's on a little shakier ground as to whether he can become a hero or not. he still wants to, he's still trying, just more room for being discouraged.

Housing: Genis lives in a small house, possibly rented from someone since he only recently moved to the area. The lights never seem to be turned on inside. The house doesn't have much in the way of decorations, but it is clean and tidy.
Personality: Small, sassy child who cares a lot about people. He is cautious of his surroundings and wary to trust other people, but he is friendly and tries to be polite and helpful.
Plans: Genis doesn't mind his role that much this time around, so he'll probably roll with it; he feels like he has freedom to follow his own sense of justice with it and will go along with that. He might try to test the "no-one will question that he's 18!" to see how far that can go. His main objective will be trying to figure out what's going on since the current setting seems more relaxed than what he'd expect with his previous game experience.

Personality: Midoriya is a good boy who tries his best to help people because he's training to be a hero! He's a nerd who mutters out loud to himself a lot and is easily flustered, but by golly will he break an arm for any stranger that looks like they need help at the drop of a hat! A plucky and determined kid who tries twice as hard as anyone to make his dreams come true.
Plans: I want Midoriya to try to figure out what's weird about this town! As soon as he catches wind of a cult, he's gonna do his best to stop anyone from getting murdered/murdering. He knows the system is forcing people to fulfill roles, but he's still gonna do his darnedest to find another way.

Personality: Mostly outgoing and slightly awkward, he'll befriend people easily even if he won't be terribly smooth about it. He's smart and incredibly curious and eager to learn. Just... eager in general, really.

He cannot do whatever a spider can in game although he would still totally crush American Ninja Warrior.
Plans:He will likely end up getting involved in stuff just because he's curious and always tries to do what is right which inevitably leads to trouble. He will be trying to make friends of all types though because despite being a super nerd he is fairly social. He will also want to learn how to fight without his Spider-Powers but will be keeping that on the down low at first.
Desired CR: Eeeeeeveryone. He needs friends, enemies, frenemies, mentors, etc.
Anything else: I really suck at adjusting to new things so please forgive the multitude of mistakes I will make at first.
